Republicans hold a 12-10 majority on the committee and a 53-47 majority in the Senate. Thursday is the final day of the hearing, and now the committee is set to vote by simple majority [simple majority was established against dire warnings by Democrat senator Harry Reid] to advance Judge Barrett’s nomination to the full Senate less than two weeks from Election Day. Her confirmation vote will follow on the Senate floor the week of Oct. 26. "After Thursday’s hearing drew to a close, the committee’s top Democrat, Sen.
