Barrett All But In. Feinstein Congratulates Graham

From The Wall Street Journal, October 15, 2020

"There remains little doubt as to the final outcome [confirming Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the SCOTUS]. Republicans hold a 12-10 majority on the committee and a 53-47 majority in the Senate. Thursday is the final day of the hearing, and now the committee is set to vote by simple majority [simple majority was established against dire warnings by Democrat senator Harry Reid] to advance Judge Barrett’s nomination to the full Senate less than two weeks from Election Day. Her confirmation vote will follow on the Senate floor the week of Oct. 26.
"After Thursday’s hearing drew to a close, the committee’s top Democrat, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) thanked Mr. Graham, saying, “This has been one of the best Senate hearings I have participated in.”
"Mrs. Feinstein and Mr. Graham embraced before leaving the hearing room. Some liberal groups reacted with frustration to the image as it made the rounds on social media, seeing it as a symbol of Democrats’ weakness in the fight for the courts." [Many argue that viewing the court as a place to "do politics" is wrong on its face - frank]
